The Protectors is inspired by the mangrove forests of Pumicestone Passage in Moreton Bay Marine Park, Queensland.
Stilt-rooted mangroves (Rhizophora stylosa) and grey mangroves (Avicennia marina) form a living barrier along these shores — protecting them from erosion and storm surges while providing habitat for diverse marine life.
The work reflects on the fragile balance between human activity and these vital ecosystems. As development, mangrove removal and increasingly severe storm surges reshape the shoreline, The Protectors asks us to consider what these trees protect — and, in turn, what we choose to protect.
Signed giclée print on canvas, presented with a black mat and sized to fit a standard A3 frame. Supplied in a protective sleeve, ready for framing.
$79.95 Postage/delivery included within Australia.
