The Sentinel semerged from walking the track into the Knoll National Park on Tamborine Mountain.
I often begin the walk with my head full of chatter. Gradually, the forest draws me into the present. I begin to notice the moss, the texture of bark and the leaves beneath my feet.
Along the track I pass between two trees. They have become sentinels to me: guardians marking the threshold between the everyday world and the quieter experience of being present in the forest.
Reaching towards the sky, they stand as witnesses to our passage through the landscape.
